OUR PROCESS

 

At Thorne Design & Build your architect and builder are always on site, they are one in the same. The construction operation, architect and builders are not separate entities, but are instead carried out by a single unified process in which design and construction are completely interwoven.  This gives us the flexibility to enrich the project as it goes along; to take advantage of opportunities as we see them arise.  The construction documents are a rough outline of what we expect, but often the finished project is much richer in form and detail than the initial drawings.  Through multiple collaborations between clients and designers throughout the project, involving on site meeting and full-scale mockups, clients can easily understand and see the choices to be made.  Not only does this make the project fun and exciting, but the clients will be intimately involved in the evolutionary design & construction of their own home. The result is a home filled with rich dynamic spaces.
